  • Presence of acute cholecystitis is more likely if it can be demonstrated that stone is impacted in gallbladder neck or cystic duct by ultrasound
  • Sonographic Murphy's sign may be blunted in patient receiving pain medication, with altered mental, or presence of gangrenous cholecystitis
