Esophagitis, Caustic (Pediatric)

Figure 2 : Midesophageal stricture. Barium swallow in the lateral projection demonstrates severe stricture at the mid to lower esophagus with proximal dilatation and food residues secondary to caustic ingestion.

Anatomic Findings

With liquid lye, upper esophagus is less affected, while distal third is most affected segment (Fig. 1, Fig. 2)
