An axial contrast-enhanced CT scan (Fig. 1) shows enhancing circumferential wall thickening within the mid appendix, with marked surrounding fat stranding adjacent to the distal appendix on axial (Fig. 2) and coronal (Fig. 3) contrast-enhanced CT scans.
