Contrast-enhanced CT using lung (Fig. 1) and soft tissue (Fig. 2) windows shows an enhancing, polypoid endobronchial lesion in the right main and upper lobe bronchus. Notice the associated mild, distal pneumonitis and volume loss. Bronchoscopic biopsy revealed a typical carcinoid tumor. In another patient with carcinoid tumor, CT at the level of the lung bases shows a left lower lobe nodule with slightly lobulated margins (Fig. 3), and CT at the level of the lung bases using soft tissue windows shows homogeneous attenuation of a left lower lobe nodule (Fig. 4).
